far from perfect but there is something really beautiful here, a kid broken by grief and pushing himself into the only thing that can make him see and feel the past he lost, his running is his way of finding catharsis and dealing with his pain. and he struggles so much with guilt for being alive while his friends died, and pain for not being able to process or understand their deaths and he just tries to find meaning and beauty in the sport he's gifted at, the coach that bonds with him and motivates him and the girl he begins to fall in love with. we're all gonna have to deal with tragedy and grief at some point, if we haven't already. this is a beautiful rendition of one guy's process of picking up the pieces and figuring out how to live and love again. it's beautiful.
