For the most part this was fine? Not great but fine. But then there are a few times when it made some choices and those deserve talking about for sure.
This is another one where they added a female character, this time Consiel's niece Bernadette, but Consiel was also along for the ride so there were four surface-dwelling guests aboard the Nautilus. And much like in the Hallmark Movie version, she had to disguise herself as a boy, but this time she did so for most of the film's runtime and it honestly looked hella great on her. Kinda tempted to headcanon her as a trans boy or enby.

weird ass fuck. trans boy OC insert, rushed wedding ending and weird framing device of present day kids scuba diving in the middle if the ocean all alone were all hilarious. My head canon is that the chest the kids find isn't an actual historical artifact but an elaborate fanfiction ARG they accidentally found the final prize for.
I have immense amounts of nostalgia for this film, I watched it dozens of times on DVD as a kid and there's just so much to love about this fun film.
