  A powerful drama about life and how sometimes it throws at us things that are almost unbearable and impossible to cope, which lead to bad decision making and points of no return.
  Some hard to watch scenes, convincing performances and a solid main cast make this movie a solid viewing.
  My only issue here was that it dragged a bit in the middle, other than that it's good.

  A Second Chance brings up several philosophical and moral questions that recall Roman J. Israel, Esq. and Irrational Man. The year for A Second Chance on IMDB is 2014, yet here we are in 2018, and it's just coming to the U.S.A. now. It's not a horrible film, yet there are some sketchy issues explored.

  In the beginning, it seems like a bad vs. good person sort of thing, yet the "good" people do "bad" things and it's supposed to make things right. Things eventually even out. I would have rated it higher, but there were a couple of too convenient things that happened.

  Also, the main male character and his partner at work looked too similar so I found it hard to tell them apart at first.

  This is the 266th film I've seen using Movie Pass.

  Drama thriller keluarga yang kelam, tragis, depresif, memilukan, dan sedih penuh dengan kesengsaraan, keterpurukan, dan keputusasaan mengenai ambiguitas moral seorang pria yang baru saja mengalami hari-hari kacau atas kematian bayinya.

  Aktingnya solid banget, mulai dari Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, sampai Maria Bonnevie bener-bener powerful penampilannya.

  Intinya cocok banget buat yang butuh tontonan depresif.

  This was a difficult watch. Susanne Bier’s ‘A Second Chance’ follows a police officer (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) with a wife and new baby, who is faced with his own personal tragedy, and makes a fateful decision involving a pair of junkie parents. He believes this decision to be its own form of justice. Superb work from Coster-Waldau; it’s from his shifting viewpoint that we watch the events of this film unfold. This is one of Bier’s better efforts; plot details, which may appear to be extreme on paper, are totally credible as the movie plays out. She also knows how to create a creeping sense of dread within this narrative.

  I went to see this partly because I have admired Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime in Game of Thrones, and partly because reveiws made it sound like a really good film. It is.

  There are four main characters in this story: two sets of parents, each with a very young baby.

  Andreas is a detective, and he and his wife Anna live a comfortable-looking life. Their new baby cries a lot, but don't they all? The proud and caring father takes turns with his frazzled wife to try and calm their son. He'll take tiny Alexander for a midnight ride in his car: she sometimes takes him for a night-time stroll in the buggy when he is fractious.

  Nada pode ser mais desesperador do que o cenário apresentado em "Segunda Chance". Susanne Bier assina um thriller dramático dilacerante sobre um pai levado ao extremo quando se vê impotente diante da crueldade do mundo. A vulnerabilidade infantil é o indigesto estopim de uma trama que vai além do caráter social.

  O desespero move as personagens numa thriller tenso que está a todo momento desafiando o senso de moralidade do protagonista (e por tabela do público). Bier se recusa a julgar. O olhar dela é humano. São personagens em condições diferentes unidos por problemas do mundo real. Dilemas reconhecíveis que nos desafiam a sentir, vivenciar e refletir também.

  I've finally solved the enigma of Susanne Bier - one of the most uneven contemporary directors. The best films she's made all have one thing in common: the fact that the manuscript was written by Anders Thomas Jensen. A Second Chance is also written by Jensen, which is obvious watching this highly emotional drama.

  Many of the top actors in Denmark and Sweden are on display; something which is notable as all performances are great. In turn, it is of highest essence as the story needs backing from excellent actors to be of interest.

  A Second Chance is a movie that falls into the category of "hard to watch" films and is a perfect example of how real life tragedy is so more afflicting than exaggerated death and mayhem.

  This thriller from Danish director Susanne Bier stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who is today known to audiences primarily for his Emmy-nominated role as Jaime Lannister in the TV series "Game of Thrones."   Any of y'all who has seen a film by Susanne Bier? If not, I'd recommend you to do so. I personally believe she is the best working female director right now.

  A Second Chance is about Andreas (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), a cop, who suddenly loses his baby. He then decides to switch his dead baby with a drug dealer (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) and his prostitute girlfriend's baby, and claims it was the right thing to do. The drug dealer then sets up a scene, when he suddenly bursts out in scream in a children's playground, yelling that his son has been abducted, and Andreas is set on the case, but that is not the only bad thing happening to him.
