idk what world these people were existing in but phineas was a manipulative piece of shit and brink was the true hero
Watching this in school... the book was much better, mainly because the film has taken the plot and the great themes and thrown them out. Acting sucks, directing is lazy, and the only reason this isn't lower is because the editing is hilariously bad.

Some modifications to the scope of the narrative structure lessen the impact of the story and take away some of the thrust of the plot (ie not set in the protagonists memory, but told real time), but the tragedy of boys being prepared to go off to war is real and palpable.
The characterizations were pretty much on point, and Finny was depicted about as well as he could have been.
