I remember seeing a trailer for About Last Night a while back and then completely forgetting about it. This was off my radar until I read some positive feedback this morning and figured I'd trek through the snow to check it out. I'm glad I did.

Why I watched this one? Two reasons....I think Kevin Hart is funny....and I thought the Rob Lowe/Demi Moore/James Belushi original About Last Night was a pretty entertaining movie.

While repetive, overlong and very cliched, About Last Night is still a solid romantic comedy thanks to the charming cast, funny and sharp script and a handful of sweet and heartfelt moments.

I really wanted to like this more than I did. The reviews for the most part were good and Hart was now able to unleash himself because of the R-rating. However, the film falters because it's trapped in the generic, clichéd tropes that stop many similar rom-coms from being nothing but average.
The standouts here are easily Kevin Hart and Regina Hall. Hart is funny as usual, and surprisingly downplays his usual shtick, leading to a better performance. Hall, who plays Hart's girlfriend, is hilarious and has great chemistry with Hart. The two of them save the movie. Without them, this movie would have been a complete bore.

About Last Night is that rare comedic film with barely any flaws within its first hour but since the 60 min mark, the film's quality started to become lower and lower. It got disjointed but it's not a bad film tbh. It's just average. Great laughs here and there and also brilliant chemistry between the main four leads. The screenplay could've been better but I accept it for what it is. Clichés also occur occasionally but I didn't really mind cause I just had fun watching this film. It's a film packed with various types of genres which I liked but the execution could've been better overall though.
It may be cliched and repetitive as a whole, but "About Last Night" still made me laugh from time to time to make it just above your average romantic comedy.
Regina Hall can definitely make any film better, ‘cause without her this one wouldn’t be very watchable.
Damn, I must be in some kind of silly and inexplicable rom-com mood, cause this is cliche as they come, still had an ok time while watching in. Probably will have to call my doctor about this.
