☆"I've been married for 68 years. I do it for the sake of humanity."☆
The Phadke family, like many in India, live together with multiple generations at home. As they prepare for a family wedding, the youngest adult of them -- director Archana Atul Phadke -- turns the camera on her sister, parents, and grandparents in the "Phadke building" in southern Mumbai. While at first a blisteringly funny look at some dysfunction and quarrels, About Love becomes a powerful documentary about the titular bond which can be strained even beyond repair.
Airing as part of the POV series on PBS, the film is now available online for free at this link, for a limited time. Contributions from viewers help support…
