That Scott Adkins is delivering one of the best action movies of the year is no surprise. That it boasts sparkling choreography and startling physicality is to be expected. That it could easily take all spots on a "top five action scenes of the year" list without much controversy is a given.
This is what Adkins does, particularly in the last five years, when he's seemingly gone into overdrive in an effort to get the mass recognition he deserves. He’s showing no signs of slowing down as he crests into the second half of his forties. He's still pulling off 360 scissor kicks in skinny jeans.
But that's all par for the course, innit?
