I was lukewarm on the first ACCIDENT MAN, but I'm glad they took all my notes that I never gave them: There are way more accident-based murders, less Guy Ritchie shit, and they give the fights tons of stylish flair. A gleeful triumph of indie action; Scott Adkins has rarely felt as fully-formed as a performer as he does in this. Right from its probably-wondering-how-I-got-here freeze-frame opening of Fallon fighting a killer clown, this is a more rambunctious and zanier sequel. Those looking for the first film’s assassin camaraderie and personal focus will sorely miss those aspects amid this follow-up’s irreverent low-brow tone (be prepared for one very shitty punchline) and action-first-plot-rarely style. In that sense, this is DTV-in-spirit made-for-action-lovers-by-action-lovers cinema through and through.

That Scott Adkins is delivering one of the best action movies of the year is no surprise. That it boasts sparkling choreography and startling physicality is to be expected. That it could easily take all spots on a "top five action scenes of the year" list without much controversy is a given.
This is what Adkins does, particularly in the last five years, when he's seemingly gone into overdrive in an effort to get the mass recognition he deserves. He’s showing no signs of slowing down as he crests into the second half of his forties. He's still pulling off 360 scissor kicks in skinny jeans.

Well, alright! The martial arts film is alive and well in 2022! Lots of searing fights. Fantastic physical performances throughout. Zara Phythian and Andy Long Nguyen really bringing the hand-to-hand heat. Ray Stevenson spits chewed up sausage into Scott Adkins' face, both actually and metaphorically.
There are some authentically funny bits, and the gags that aren't funny almost always land in that forgiving sweet spot where cheese and dad jokes live. A worthy successor to the first. Losing Jesse V. Johnson in the director's chair had me a bit weary, but stunt men the Kirby Brothers manage to infuse their own vibrant and energetic style while still making the action coherent and fun to watch. This is one of the best looking movies to shoot on a cheap digital camera, with out having to cheat on lighting by shooting everything to look like overcast skies.

Fell into the trap many sequels on popular B-movie cult movies step into. Take everything that worked in the original and amplify it until it becomes out of balance. The first film had a fine balance between action and situational comedy where the sequel often tried too hard to be funny. Sometimes it worked, but more often than not it missed comedic timing.
The action sequences were also a step down as the fights often felt too "soft" with landing blows and kicks missing impact or not connecting at all. The CGI blood, fire and fake heads and an artificial wobbly action camera didn't help matters as well.

The sequel to Accident Man is superior in almost every department, with the exception of the stripped down, paper thin storyline that's only serviceable as an excuse to throw Scott Adkins into various duels with multiple assassins hot on his tale but what it lacks in story and memorable characters it more than makes up for in action, mainly brutal hand to hand combat.
it's very well made overall with cool camerawork, editing and music however it tones down the over stylisation quite a bit compared to its predecssor. Adkins seems very comfortable as Mike Fallon, like he was born to play this role and I hope this becomes a long running Movie series because this shit is exactly my jam and it's just so much fun.

Adkins is a five tool player, man. As great a fighter as he is, he’s so underrated with comedy. Dude’s got fantastic timing.
