The first two-thirds of Afternoon Delight are somewhat of a treat - it's not really the raunchy, female-led sex comedy that I thought it might be. It's more thoughtful, about a woman, Rachel, going through a personal crisis, and who deflects her own issues onto a stripper, McKenna, who she sort of adopts and tries to nurture while her relationship with her husband dwindles. Kathryn Hahn is great as Rachel, plays her just-on-the-edge of awareness of her own state so well - she sees a therapist, and lies to her. She feels attacked when McKenna speaks of men who think they can save her, when she doesn't really want to be saved. She's friends with other mothers, who she looks…
