I liked the leads, but I felt like this was nothing new and it bored me despite having seemingly high stakes and “perspective” by having the older version of the main character narrate.
This is the 232nd film I’ve seen using Movie Pass.

-Someone asks Tye Sheridan to eat a burger to put “more meat” on his “bones”.

ok but no 16yr old boy actually has deep thoughts like these and says them out loud to the girl he likes.

Can you believe I actually spent more time wondering if that bridge in the woods at the beginning of the movie actually was the one from Dirty Dancing (1987) than I spent time paying attention to my boy Tye... that’s how boring and bland this movie is

I REALLY wanted this to be great. It has everything I love in coming of age movies: fireworks, summer, cute girl, really hipster soundtrack, messages about the loss of innocence
BUT NO THIS SUCKS! IM REALLY MAD GUYS
But Kaitlyn Dever is my new fav actress and I can't freaking wait for Beautiful Boy. I'm telling you guys, she's going to be the breakout star of 2018

this is so sad because they really put austin abrams, tye sheridan, and kaitlyn dever in one movie and it was BAD
