Presents a disappointingly and perhaps insincerely binary view of Pakistan's struggles with Islamic extremism, inextricably linking Islam as a whole with its worst form of ideologies without making the important distinctions that people can devote themselves to Islam without being violent, and that many who claim they are wholly devoted to Islam aren't quite as religious as they'd like others to believe.
By the end, Among the Believers tries to backtrack and show a more complex picture, but it's too little too late by that point. There's some interesting surface-level discussion to be had here, but those who don't know anything about Islam or Pakistani society could be easily mislead by this film's framing, while those who do know about these subjects will likely find little of substance here.
