Between this doc and his short film Thermidor shows a marked improvement. The shots are cleaner, the camera movement is crisper and visually, there's a lot more that stands out and makes it a more interesting prospect. Given Andorra's tax status (a serious bone of contention in the neoliberal EU stratosphere), it revels in the marketing and advertising of certain goods and services and people lapping up tax free goods (cigarettes and booze of course) and slaloming their way through the ski slopes.
I'll admit that this may not interest many, it is a dry, observant documentary, there is no passing commentary, it allows one girl to highlight the boredom people face living in a municipality that thrives on its status as a tax haven. Visually though, it is quite special.
