This is pretty much gaguhan the movie for almost two hours. Not gonna lie, I miss this type of irreverent humor.
Lots of people die, but there's also a giant golden dick in this film, so it's up to you how if you interpret the film: as either some satirical take on social realism or the movie equivalent of shitposting.
The main characters are very stupid. There's an endearing kind of stupid, and this film doesn't really go for it. It writes them as stupid and mean, which makes it difficult to invest in their success. There really is no rooting interest in this story. Everyone is just kind of shitty. And the film asks us to laugh at all this shittiness, in spite of the fact that it involves torture and murder and all manner of things that are tough to find funny, especially now in a time when the country and its government seem so willing to write off the lives of so many people.
The movie trundles toward violence with little care for the actual consequences. The climax doesn't really make a whole lot of sense, a bunch of loose ends lurching toward a telegraphed ending that doesn't at all feel earned. It's indicative of a story that was never fully thought through.
You may take scenes and dialogues as bits for social realism but the the way of bringing up humor on the most natural and facile manner makes possible political or social commentaries less perceptible.
pero puta maganda talaga sya tapos sabi ni direk he just wanted something natural; komedyang 'di pilit. sino ba naman kasing 'di matatawa sa gintong tite?

pera muna bago tite!
Money Heist but make it 100x funnier.
Bastos comedy and better than most pinoy slapstickers coming out. As it's all about cashing in the golden penis. Pepe Herrera has become a favorite ever since I first saw him in Ang probinsyano, and he shows he might be one of the best screen comedians coming out of the Philippines at the moment. For silly comedies he makes me laugh the most without coming across as forced as so many of them do. He's a natural at it.
A movie my boyfriend forced me to watch that turned out bad because he doesn't check letterboxd (1)
The movie had soooo much potential given how it started and how it ended but lost its way in the middle when they tried to do serious scenes. Wish they stuck with being ridiculously funny all throughout, might have been a much better movie. The dialogue was unbelievably terrible. I remember shaking my head when the driver mentioned the fear of zombies thing which literally came out of nowhere. I still enjoyed myself despite the occasional out of place jokes that are either overrused (the PDWD bathroom) or badly delivered (the guy fixing the car and doing the skit Pepe Herrera is known for.)
good actors ruined by a promising-screen play-at-first-but-it-went-downhill-in-the-middle
“Anong gagawin ko dyan (sa pera)? Gusto ko tite.”
Needed a laugh after Promising so inulit ko to and di naman ako nagkamali. Hope mas machampion pa local comedies with more social relevance (without being too preachy—read: nuanced, something this film can improve on) and most of all, heart.
You could have a good comedy without resorting to crude/vulgar humor at every given chance
Guys, watch Big Time (2005) instead!!! It's a MUCH better comedy film than this. This...this was just bad.
