A really well made, shot, acted and intense drama/thriller. Incredibly well paced and great moments of tension. Noomi Rapace and Yvonne Strahovski are fantastic, both their performances are so emotionally gripping and raw. Great supporting cast also, including the kids. A really nice twist too. Will keep you on edge and emotionally invested the entire way through. Also a great Australian film may I add - so when this gets a cinema release please support it!
Very sad and dramatic watching this woman unravel ... it does have a couple of awesome suspenseful moments too . Yvonne & Noomi we’re both fantastic as usual and whoa I had no idea that Yvonne was Australian 🙃 if you enjoyed strangerland, have ever watched and actually liked a lifetime movie (which the production of this is ten times better but honestly this is a perfect film for lifetime) or lookin for a solid drama with a bit of tension check this out ...
Luke Evans is also barely in this ... kind of a joke he’s on that poster
Un thriller psychodrama con sus cosas cliches, pero donde la actuacion de Noomi Rapace lo es todo, algunas veces hasta te hace sentir incomod@ por momentos, Yvonne Strahovski sin quedarse muy atras tambien actua muy bien..
Fantasy Film Fest 2019: Film #44
Solid slow burn psychological thriller with a great performance from Noomi Rapace. Richard Roxburgh shows up and is somehow not the villain, I had no idea that was even an option.
I've been focused on a... situation that's come up.

Dramatic thriller that rests on the viewer watching Noomi Rapace becoming completely unravelled and she’s damn excellent. So is Yvonne Strahovski. Mrs. DuLac insisted that was the actress that plays Serena on The Handmaid’s Tale. Told her she didn’t know what she was talking about. I was wrong.
Great film, my only complaint is that they try to tie up everything in the end with a nice little bow which sabotages the impact of the ending. It’s one of those films that could have benefitted from a sloppy ending that leaves you hanging when it comes to the future of certain characters.

Afterthoughts: Really impressed with the performances. Been a massive fan of Noomi Rapace since I first saw her in Prometheus and this is probably my favourite role I've seen her in so far. It's a tough character to play; one that must gain our sympathy and yet creep us out in equal measure, and Rapace executes the balance very nicely.
The climax feels somewhat rushed and the resolution a bit too nicey, nicey for my liking, which is a shame, but I liked the rest of it enough to still give it a strong score.
This is a really unfortunate case of a movie that could’ve been even better had it not been for the final 15 or so minutes, the ending segment was a true let down here. But, up until that point, this was a really different and better kind of movie than what I was expecting. The trailer sold it as a really conventional and generic thriller, that’s been done a bunch of times before and would have absolutely nothing new to offer. But, as it turns out, this movie had a lot more going on then what the trailer showed. For most of the time, while it did have some elements of a thriller, this was a really interesting drama and…
My opinion on Noomi Rapace's career tends to flow in the opposite direction to most other people's.
The general consensus seems to be that she did her stint as Lisbeth Salander and since then she's not really lived up to that. But I didn't really care for the original Swedish version of the Millennium trilogy (nor David Fincher's go at the first third of it, for that matter) so I actually much prefer the films she's been making recently.
She's been in a steady stream of really enjoyable thrillers (and action films) over the last few years, and Angel of Mine could be the best of them. I wouldn't say she's the easiest actor to warm to. There's a coldness…
Fantastic performances from Noomi Rapace & Yvonne Strahovski (who now when I see her, I think of her as Serena Joy from The Handmaid’s Tale lol). Great pace & a nice twist that I didn’t see coming. Awesome mystery thriller.
This was a pretty solid psychological drama up until the end which I didn't like at all.
Surprisingly great and multi-layered performance from Noomi Rapace in the lead, Yvonne Strahovski I'm used to being good so that was no surprise she was here as well.
Would have had an extra .5 stars and a (low ranked) spot in my fav 2019 movies had it not been for the ending, but it's still a decent film I certainly wouldn't advice anyone NOT to watch it.
what starts off as a slow paced mild thriller with a pretty by the book ‘obsession’ orientated archetype, slowly morphs into a far fetched boredom fest.
The whole entire thing is pretty sloppy. The cast switch between accents, the acting is okay but not all too great with Noomi Rapace being outshone by a pretty good performance from Ms Yvonne Strahovski and the plot line itself is something which i’ve seen time and time again and just really didn’t interest me in the slightest.
Some say a movie can be made great by its closing scene but “Angel of Mine” proves just the opposite. Rushed and really rather stupid, i will say i was completely disappointed & entirely dissatisfied.
For 90% if it’s running time Angel of Mine is a really interesting dissection of trauma and how it impacts every aspect of life. Thanks to two central performances it’s often compelling. And then the ending descends into a frustrating attempt at ‘90s thriller twists that has everything preceding it falling flat on its face.
this movie was unsettling for me like i have so many psychological qualms ... still saw the twist coming halfway through the movie
Aun que la historia tiene de creíble lo justo (por decirlo de algún modo), por lo menos la película mantiene el suspense hasta el final.
Cosa que ya es mucho en este tipo de telemovies típicas de domingo por la tarde.
Two mothers, one truth, and one innocent victim.
Creepy and disturbing, but also heartwarming and heartbreaking, depends how to look at it. Slow pace did not killed this thriller for me but I can't say that I liked this movie. Too depressing.
In total: creepy child-stalking movie, luckily fictional, otherwise the child here will require a lifetime long psychotherapy til her death.
PS. Angel of Mine is a remake of the french movie L'empreinte de l'ange (2008).
This movie is frickin good I love it Serena needs to stop stealing people's babies
Swedish force Noomi Rapace will mesmerize in this slow burn /psychological thriller-her co star Yvonne S. ( the infamous Mrs. Waterford from hand maidens tale ) -is also incredible in the supporting actress role-nail biter for sure —- wherever you think this movies headed -expect the unaccepted-total gem I didn’t think The beautiful Noomi Rapace would creep me out as much as she did!! She’s a force of nature put her in as many roles as possible!! Her range is impeccable and she’s hypnotic to watch as any character the good the bad the ugly....she’s incredible.
"Angel of Mine" is a really good psychological thriller drama with some intense moments and incredible acting performances all around, but especially from Noomi and Yvonne.
It's like our household tradition now to watch a few generic thriller flicks per week as a fam. Lockdown innit.
When I heard the title & synopsis of this one I was 100% sure it was going to suck balls, then when I see the casting it redeemed my hopes.
Surpassed my expectations by a lot. Actually has a bit of a David Fincher x Gone Girl vibe. Tense, twisty & keeps you guessing until the end, which is everything you want in a thriller really. The performances were great too, which is what you'd expect from the stellar cast.
The only downside: This movie featured the MOST AWKWARD sex scene i've ever had to endure while watching with my grandparents. Maybe not one for a cosy family movie night.
