If you told me 3 years ago that i'd really like the sequel to Ouija and Annabelle I would've told you to get fucked.
I think it's safe to say,
at this point, that it would
do Lulu Wilson some good to
just stay away from both dolls
and board games altogether.

In my theater for this, every time a character would do something, a girl sitting next to my dad (think I recognize her from some prep school near me) would scream about how "fucking stupid this bitch is". Uhhhhhhhhhh, one of my biggest pet peeves is calling out characters in horror movies for supposedly inhuman stupidity that wouldn't pass in a real world situation... or would it? The worst example of this that I've heard oh-so-often is the whole Saw argument which is "WHY DIDN'T THEY SHOOT OFF THE CHAIN??? INSTEAD OF CUTTING OFF THE FOOT???" I’m all for a good step up sequel and that’s exactly what this was! I mean, just like with Ouija, the first movie was nothing special and really didn’t merit a sequel but they went and made one anyway and it’s better than the first and I have no idea what that’s about nor do I care, I just want it to keep happening.
The atmosphere is great and one of the jump scares actually made me do a sort of half-twitch thing and that’s impressive. Also, there’s a scene with Annabelle’s eyes glowing in the dark that was super creepy and it’s one of my new favorite things so I’m all on board for another movie. Part 3 please now thanks!

Samuel and Esther Mullins are a couple living out in the country with their young daughter during the mid-1940s. Samuel is a maker of handcrafted dolls. During a tragic accident their daughter is killed. Whereas its predecessor was utterly devoid of scares, I think Creation is my scariest foray into the Conjureverse yet. It's clear from his shorts that Sandberg knows not just how to do jumpscares, but to craft psychological unease as well, and ultimately outdoes James Wan himself, as the original Conjuring left me underwhelmed last year but this actually spooked me quite a bit. Hopefully the next sequel can match this.

Reading the Synopsis and watching the Trailer, I thought this would become my favorite Film in the conjuring universe. Well, unfortunately it's not. I found it rather boring for the most part and it felt like I was watching a 3 hour Movie. I however liked the end and the connection to the first Annabelle Movie.
The Actresses who played Janice and Sister Charlotte both did a great Job.
The original Annabelle film is total dog shit. I'm not even sure why I bothered to give this followup/prequel-to-a-prequel a shot. But I'm glad I did. It boggles the mind how much better this is compared to its disgracefully garbage predecessor. In the able hands of David F. Sandberg, Annabelle: Creation is exactly what you want from a nice little bit of spooky trash. It's always entertaining and there's a couple of super spine-tingling moments (Sandberg is seriously obsessed with mucking around with lights). It keeps it simple—Annabelle's head suddenly facing a character, ghostly figures under sheets, creepy scarecrows hanging off walls—but, hey, it works and it's executed with expert precision. There's a few surprises thrown in along the way and it even manages to tie in rather beautifully with the 2014 film. Annabelle: Creation is no horror classic, but, like Sandberg's previous feature Lights Out, it's glossy, quality, creepy fun.
