  Just finished this movie and it absolutely deserves to be praised. I'm still completely shock maa. I didn't expect that the ending in this movie would come as a real surprise. It's something else. I didn't even see it's coming. Great sci-fi movie so far in 2020

  
  
  

  I don't understand why Theo James isn't as big of a star as he should be. How do we live in a world where Pete Davidson is more famous than this hunkie man. Oh gosh, Im so sorry Theo, sweetie. I had a crush on him on Divergent. He was great in it. He's such an underrated actor. He needs to be on more movies for better roles, I guess. Maybe im gunna look forward for his movies asap.

I'm too possessive to share my research with other scientists, and I'm too pretentious to trust scientific inventions that I didn't design myself.   Sometimes production design is so good that it feels like a character itself, playing its own quiet and omnipresent role among those that facilitate plot developments. And there's something about sleek near-future design in particular that, especially when juxtaposed with the natural world, can feel otherworldly and ironically timeless. It's not difficult to imagine, then, how Gavin Rothery's art direction background is ideal for this feature-length debut.   In this time of ours we are all living in, many of us have actually noticed the fact that there are certain movies that demands the movie theater experience. There's something about the scope, the sound and everything that can't be replicated at home. This movie doesn't particularly fall into that bill, but I think as a movie where his greatness heavily lies on its sound (both score and mixing/design), watching it with a crappy sound system might hurt the viewing.

  A passable sci-fi yarn that would have been pleasantly forgotten the moment the DVD left the tray had the filmmakers left good enough alone. But they didn’t. They got crafty and sharted out a ‘we’re so clever!’ ending that actually makes no goddamn sense. So yeah...fuck this movie.

  Written and directed by Gavin Rothery, a visual effects supervisor who's worked on various science fiction films, Archive could have made a rather enjoyable episode of television - where it could have easily slotted into a series like Black Mirror. He attempts to bring forward a premise that's eerie and intriguing; however, erratic pacing issues cause the film to feel artificially stretched to shape it into a feature. If it was to have jettisoned almost half of its runtime the final beats, which could have been potentially strong, may have landed with surprise as well as the intended weight.

  A quarter of the way into this indie science-fiction movie, I thought I was seeing the new Moon. Halfway through, I thought I was seeing the new Ex Machina. Three-fourths of the way in, I thought I was seeing something wild and original. Then the end hit, and I was so frustrated at the loss of all that potential.   I find that most recent sci-fi falls into one of two categories - they're either not ambitious enough or they're too ambitious.

  I *think* Archive falls into the latter category, mainly for the reason that this film really has no idea what it wants to be. It eventually becomes one of those 'sexy robot' sci-fis in its final third as Stacy Martin is resurrected (I think?) as a shapely, horny automaton.

  At various other points it's a bit Silent Running, then throws in some robot depression too as one of the robots becomes suicidal - no, really. Then there's some corporate espionage going on in the background or something, plus some kind of outside war or conflict building in the…

  This movie took parts of Ex Machina and parts of Moon and then combined them into it's own uniquely interesting film. This movie packs a pretty damn good ending, but the lead up had me intrigued the whole time. I was always wondering exactly what was going on and the film did not disappoint. Plus, the movie hits some emotional notes with the number 2 robot. The flick also looks great. The scenery and the style of everything just really worked for me. This was a really good movie that didn't disappoint.
