2022 Directed by Aziz Ansari
After another year of lockdowns, Aziz takes the stage to skewer pandemic life, quarantines, vaccine cards, celebrity side-gigs, smartphones and more.
Aziz Ansari sits on a stool for 30 mins and basically says we're all stupid selfish robots.
It was cool.
Aziz somehow manages to tackle Ice Cube’s 4-hour colonoscopy, Aaron Rodger’s scientific processes, Trump’s content mastery, Kamala Harris’ Bigfoot-like invisibility, the great resignation, western apathy, Covid subsidies, global wealth disparity, Frank Ocean’s anti-capitalist philosophy, and Twitter thread insanity in a lean 30-minute set that is equal parts poignant, empathetic, & funny.
Would gladly join Team Flip if I knew how to get anywhere without Google Maps. Shit, I got got!
Aziz Ansari is great. Been a fan of his ever since Master of None and Parks and Rec. This reminded me he's a hilarious stand-up comedian as well. He truly made me laugh. The low-key vibe works tremendously in his favour. Just a great set from Aziz that I wish was longer.
"So, I got a lot going on. I’m like one of those DJ Khaled songs with way too many features. Another one" 💉

If ur audience is 100% white and ur a minority....
1 ur jokes arengonna be dumb..
2..... How much he paid themnto come in and fake laugh!? 😂😂😂 he musta got vaxxed
I'll be honest, not sure if opening and closing with TWO (!!) different Aphex Twin songs made me like this more.........................or less!
(Seriously though, given Aziz's fraught relationship to internet culture and cancellation of sorts, for bad behavior, there's a lot of material here that feels like it's built up around the edges of an elephant in the room that he doesn't tackle directly, which is weird given the emphasis this thing has on feeling intimate and sort of confessional and trying things out. I DID find the stuff about Ice Cube getting a colonoscopy funny though!)
“If you really take a step back and look at humanity… kind of a shitty group of people, right?”
Aziz makes a surprise appearance at the Comedy Cellar in New York City, taping his fourth stand-up special on the stage where he began his career. His material mostly consists of analyzing the changes seen throughout the pandemic and the previous decade of emerging technology and social media — bringing up interesting and clever observations. It is a much more personal set, in comparison to previous specials.
A near perfect 30 minutes of stand up in an intimate setting with some jokes that aren’t overdone or underdone. Aziz needs a new special soon
