Lacks the style, craft, personality, and deranged nihilism of Michael Bay's masterpiece Bad Boys II but partly makes up for it with a surprisingly coherent, emotional story. A better ending than most trilogies get.

Three thoughts I had during this movie:

1) Think of the best possible cameo that this movie could have. Yeah, they got it. (No, not ** ******. The other one.)

2) Honestly a little disappointed at how smooth the action in this film felt– it was like they wanted to sand down the edges of Bayhem into something a little more palatable. Which is impressive! But Bad Boys should be the kind of dumb action movie where a bunch of cops drive recklessly through Brazilian favelas, just because it seems cool.

3) If they ever make a Gears of War movie (sorry- when) these guys should be behind it. The entire third act screamed Gears of War to me, which is an outstanding thing to do since that is a game and phrase I have not seen or thought about in maybe 8 or so years now.

Pants needs an Oscar for this one. The horse speech? Get outta here

In BAD BOYS II, they sneak a small army into Cuba. In this one they fly commercial to Mexico.

Not without its moments, including a handful of good lines and some nice handheld longer takes and assorted camera gags in the relatively legible action sequences. Otherwise this is mightily generic. You'll be longing for the manic, gorgeous awfulness of Bay's plastic poison.

Suprisingly fine, knows exactly what it and it's predecessors are while not cynically ridiculing itself.

Fun.
Thrilling.
Made me laugh.

Very funny with lots of visceral violent scenes that never take themselves too seriously. We need way more Martin Lawrence on our screens, not enough of him these days.

Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett are back at it after 17 years away from the big screen. Will Smith has kept in shape all those years. Lawrence has kept in Big Momma shape.

BB for Life has plenty of gun action and some good humor from Lawrence. But the film does seem to drag a bit. The part where Lawrence's "family man" stuff comes into play bogs down the story. But overall this was an entertaining third installment.

PS. the lovely Vanessa Hudgens rocks her cornrows! And the detective who played Rita (Paola Nunez) was looking pretty sweet too.

Never thought i'd ever say this, but this would've improved if Bay directed it.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. It was stupidly fun and really hilarious. This a really good movie by any rubric.
