You may expect Bad Hair to be another over the top whacky movie about killer inanimate objects, but luckily director Justin Simeon has enough respect for the horror genre to not just mock it. He uses the opportunity to dive into the cult subgenre of body horror, which oftentimes comes with the slow and patient process of the victim realizing their bodies are betraying them.
Funnily enough, this October I have been diving back in and rewatching some of David Cronenberg's movies - The Brood, Videodrome and The Fly, and immediately when I started Bad Hair, I could tell Simeon had his influences deep into Cronenberg's territory.
