6 years of Bajrangi Bhaijaan!
I remember watching it on theatres back then and when the film got over most of the audience were crying (definitely including me) and were applauding. Being an Indian I can confirm one thing that we Indians are very gullible and everyone has a bit of jingoism in them. Bajrangi Bhaijaan gave us a Salman Khan very different to the one we are used to, there is no swagger, no punchlines and most importantly there is no.....ripping off his shirt. He stars as a symbol of peace and love in this cross border drama. This might be his most coherent film to date.
Harshali Malhotra as Munni is the heart of the film and has…
First movie of 2022 😃
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE ❤️
What a start for me , one of the my favourite movie from Bollywood.
For me best performance of Salman Khan's career.
This movie beutifully conveys a very strong message of love, peace and humanity beyond religion and borders, through a journey where in a simple, honest man helps a child reach her home putting everything else on stake.
1989- Maine Pyar Kiya
2003 - Tere Naam
Watching a movie in a cinema hall packed with Bhai Fans is quite a feeling, whistles galore, catcalling and an overwhelming sense of emotion. After more than a decade Sallu delivers a genuine performance and for that i salute him. It is much more restrained and heartfelt. It is "ekdum paisa vasool entertainment". Most of his trademark moves are missing and i truly felt the sincerity.
Harshali Malhotra is the movie's trump card..This is one of the best child performances in recent years along with Darsheel Safary in Taare Zameen Par. She is super dupe cute, emotes well and has a really bright future.
Nawaaz Bhai, what more can i say,you just keep surprising me…
A heartwarming sweet emotional drama which hits the right chord with its solid performances, beautiful visuals, laid back humor & well written dialogues. The soul of the movie is its positivity & pure love, leaves you with a smile when it’s over. The plot does lag a bit during the second half until the arrival of nawazuddin, but it’s of minor hinderance. Though the story is far fetched with its logic, it sucks you into its world of love.
Salman khan, as the innocent pawan was fabulous with his emotional performance. Nawazuddin siddiqui as the friendly pakistani reporter was perfect. Harshaali Malhotra, as the young kid was adorable & cute with her million dollar smile. Rest of cast were adequate. The portions featuring salman & nawaz were the high points of the movie. A highly satisfying watch.
this was such a good film!!! it is pretty politically astute, more than i thought it would be! they discussed casteism, islamophobia, the stupidity of a border (universal message) and how laws do not equate to morality!!! i don’t love that it took a little pakistani girl for the hindu nationalist character to realize the humanity of pakistanis and muslims (she stole the show though!) but honestly, the fact that this movie did so well is so surprising to me, it’s definitely not a perfect movie politics wise but it touched on a lot more things in a more nuanced way than other bollywood films i’ve seen. i will say some of the more joyful songs are very ill timed ... but anyway fuck borders!
Part of my Bollywood Challenge
Written and directed by Kabir Khan, this family friendly romcom is the story of a big-hearted Indian man who vows to help a mute Pakistani girl get back to her home and family. It was a hit at the box office, earning revenues of 970.27 crore ($149.27 million) against a budget of just 90 crore ($14 million). And in 2015, the film gained the distinction of being "the most watched Bollywood movie in the history of television" when it was broadcast on the Star Gold channel in October.
In the mountain village of Sultanpur, a woman named Rasia (Meher Vij) gives birth to a girl and names her Shahida (Harshaali Malhotra) after a famous Pakistani…
As they once said in an AIB sketch…
