A TRUE STORY
9 July 2010 Knight and Day released in India.
I went to watch this movie, but I didn't got the ticket as it was Houseful.
My excitement got higher.
15 July 2010
I went 30 minutes early to take a ticket for this movie. I got it. I was happy. But soon the show got canceled due to low audience for this movie. Instead they showed me Udaan(An modern Indian Cinema Masterpiece). I forgot about Knight and Day.
This was God's work to send me to a movie I should must watch.
3 months later........
Knight and Day released on web. I downloaded it and watched it. After 1 hour and 50 minutes, I went to god…
oh wow this is a YA movie!!
- loveable mary sue heroine whose parents died tragically, lives with her quirky grandma, trapped in a boring town in a boring life, wears fashionably dowdy cardigans, nobody around her seems to realize she looks like a model, dreams of romance but doesn't think she deserves it
- mysterious exciting heartthrob drops into heroine's lap out of nowhere, falls in love with the heroine for no reason and instantly decides he's ready to die for her, she's conflicted because he's a ~bad boy~ but it turns out he's doing it for noble reasons so it's fine, does a bunch of shady abusive things to the heroine but he's hot and it's for noble…
This was released in the same weekend as Haider. Went out with my cousin who had started earning recently. Decided to watch this instead of Haider for some fucking reason. Very bad decision.
I still remember how excited I was to watch this film back in 2014 after that crazy teaser cut that I purchased the tickets for double price in black just to catch a glimpse of Hrithik doing all those high octane action blocks, all that for being disappointedly walking out of theater realizing it is a remake of Knight and Day, which itself wasn't a good film in any manner.
Still there are some aspects such as those banger songs, great production values, high octane action stuff where Hrithik does everything Tom Cruise does, which gives it a decent repeat value while skipping many of the unnecessary sequences involving Katrina.
“hi, you probably think im sexy so let me show you how much i enjoy being sexy (and also do you want a mountain dew?)” - hrithik roshan, probably
no contest siddharth anand’s best effort (only so far, hopefully🙏); the action pastiche everyone seems to respond to so much in war feels far more endearing here, able to overcome anand’s more crass tendencies almost wholly through hrithik and katrina selling the hell out of this dhoom 2 fan-fiction. we should go reverse mode and do a vanilla sky remake with them both
The only reason I saw this like 5 times is because It was one of the options on my way to and from china. 14 hours trip. So I just decided to watch this on repeat.
Wer das Original („Knight and Day“) mag, sollte vielleicht auch hier einmal vorbeischauen. Möglicherweise gefällt ihm/ihr das Remake sogar besser.
Für Bollywood-Fans eine klare Empfehlung!
