Yesterday during my working hours I thought I would clean/organize storage bins around me to throw away junk, file papers, and the infamous socks that build up over time as gifts that I never wear, etc. Instead of throwing away certain clothing articles it dawned on me "Hey I can use these to make doll clothes". Which is something that I've been wanting to get back into doing. And eventually take photos of certain settings.
And what better inspiration "BARBIE".
Which is why I'm watching this one this morning. Last night I
re-did my Netflix list as to what's been added and what had been removed.
Today: Clean/organize the 3 tier shelf and then later re-doing my Hulu list.
As far as the film goes, it was fun and cute.
Love the Roberts' version style barbie and friends along with the animation.

i’m honestly kind of disappointed, the sheer drop in quality of storytelling between this and dolphin magic 3 years earlier is so obvious and if you’re gonna make a film spin off of the barbie dreamhouse adventures show,, maybe actually make barbie’s friends ya know, do something, anyway mattel genuinely doesn’t know what they’re doing with barbie when it comes to film and tv but at least they got one thing right about this and that’s ken, ken is a good boy and i love him
Part 3 of me and my sister watching barbie movies. She didn't bring any DVDs this week so we had to resort to netflix and watch something neither of us had seen before. Somehow not our worst decision. I would have much rather watched something I'm a little bit nostalgic for like the early 2000's barbie films but alas we did not have them at our disposal so we put ourselves through this horrendous pile of shit.
Practically all of the issues apply to all barbie films ever so I'll just speed through them. The characters suck and are annoying, the dialogue is awkward and not funny, the narrative is lame, the performances are dreadful and nobody gave a fuck…
“What do you say we go out there and make a difference.”
the way this gave me an instant serotonin rush 😭❤️ been a while since my last Barbie film and Princess Adventure made me want to rewatch the whole franchise. yes it is indeed another princess switch plot, the same they’ve already done NUMEROUS times before, and yet i am enchanted luv it’s unreal. this was also written by one of the head writers of the Dreamhouse Adventures show (which i like a lot) so it ties the familiar trope into the established setting of that very nicely.
keeps with the contemporary spirit of vlogging, self-realization, and anti-patriarchal sentiments, and throws in some great musical numbers. idk guys i have no expectations…
It's Sunday morning. Daughter woke up first. She has control of TV. A Barbie Princess Adventure (2020) with a lot of songs. Too sleepy to take my coffee and get my lazy ass off the couch. Got to be strong... I've survived worse. Maybe.
This was fun but I have to say it.. Princess and the pauper > Princess and the Popstar > Princess adventure
I mean, it's another retelling of Prince and the Pauper, and its not NEARLY as good as Barbie as The Princess and the Pauper. But I suppose its engaging enough. The voice work is decent and some of the songs honestly slap.
Most of the story beats aren't very interesting and Barbie and Amelia both feel undersupported by the script. Theres a chase sequence in the airport where her family chases their dogs, but she barely gets any character outside of vlogger that wants to stay true to herself.
I will say that it is a step up from some of the other more recent Barbie movies I have seen. Hopefully that keeps up and Barbie movies become iconic once again.
THERE'S A NEW BARBIE MOVIE OUT HOLY SHIT!!!!!!
I love a good princess-swap Barbie film but unless the series is prepared to continue upping the stakes (which if this instalment is any indication, it isn't) then the concept will just keep giving diminishing returns. It's a shame the storytelling is so weak because the animation is cute and there's a couple of fun songs. There's also a scene where Barbie's friends join her on the dancefloor to rescue her from a creepy dude and it's the most relatable moment in any Barbie film.
I really liked the graphics in this, the characters really looked like barbie dolls and some of the scenes were genuinely beautiful, especially during the Life in Color song. I absolutely loved the diversity, not with just the color of their skin, but the different heights and weights as well; that's really rare in Barbie stuff. However, the story was so all over the place that if you blinked once, you missed a whole scene. There was a great message in this and a lot of pros, but the plot and story brought that all down. A step in the right direction, though.

barbie movies are one of the few things that still make my cold, shriveled heart feel joy
i meeaan— yes we have already seen this concept twice before but i actually really enjoyed this one. the “be yourself” theme is basic but still really important for young children watching this- and barbie movies doesn’t always have vEry iMpOrtAnt messages sooo i liked it bye
Cute story, exactly what I expected from Barbie.
They have so much rhythm, I was quite impressed.
