Who are we when we all share the same face?
I too want to live in a Death Stranding/Blade Runner 2049 netherworld with Noface and his pals while an AI just throws random theory at me.
It’s got video game mechanics going on but the animation and backgrounds were stunning. Not a huge fan of this alternative story though
Somehow this movie felt like a modern version of the holy mountain, visually. The animation was not always so smooth and that got me quite out of the story.
Meryem Lahlou is quite possibly a genius. The ninety minutes of reading material on her website exploring the creation and design of this short testify to that. Still, one has to question the purpose of art that requires reading a lengthy blog post to properly enjoy. Bare Bones is occasionally breathtaking but never quite manages to eke out a reason for its own existence, instead falling under the strange umbrella of edgy guided meditation and when Creative Writing Tumblr first learned it was fun to write horror stories in the second person.
