ari aster shouting "you're fucked pal!" with a smug smile on his face as he books it past beau is exactly the feeling i get watching every single thing he creates
If I ever see some crazy white boy walked past my apartment saying "You're Fucked Pal".
You can guarantee my lease would be up the next day.
i feel like this could easily be a metaphor for social anxiety cause i too often think people are randomly gonna come up to me and yell “YOU’RE FUCKED PAL” into my face for no reason at all other than me being incredibly paranoid (i don’t have any known acquaintances who are furries tho)

In his second short, Ari Aster explores paranoia by having the keys of a man’s home be stolen right in front of him. It leads to a series of outrageous occurrences that I believe are within the protagonist’s mind to represent his delusions. Also, Ari Aster yelling “you’re fucked, pal” is something I didn’t know I needed to see.
After hearing Joaquin Phoenix is slated to play Beau in the upcoming feature; I was hoping Billy Mayo would at least get to make a cameo, but (according to his IMDb) it looks like he passed away in June of last year :( RIP.
