What a weird movie. A mishmash of archival footage, modern-day Lazenby reminiscing, and a cinematic adapation of his early life.
For a guy who basically coasted through life on his looks and charm, the actor cast to play him is lacking in both. Every time there's a cut from him to actual Young Lazenby, one of history's all-time hunks, it's jarring. The actual cinematic parts are sometimes funny, but mostly cheesy.
The best parts about this movie are the archival footage of Lazenby in pure don't-give-a-shit mode doing the press rounds for OHMSS (one of the better Bond movies, in my opinion); and an elderly Lazenby reminiscing about his many, many sexual conquests.
This movie is also a lot more focused on Lazenby's erectile dysfunction and gastrointestinal issues than you might expect. Also features an out-of-left field Dana Carvey cameo doing a terrible Johnny Carson impression.
