What a waste in all directions. Lazenby is full of it for an hour and the film dutifully follows his incoherent yarn in crappy, tone-deaf reconstructions.
It's basically all make-believe, but fine... or, it would have been fine, had the film just followed through on what seems to be this idea. But then George suddenly tells it as it is for the last 30 minutes and the movie basically doesn't exist anymore.
The entire thing could have been Lazenby just talking, faced to the camera in a planimetric shot like he is throughout, and things would have perhaps become real interesting. At times the man is spilling his guts totally and better filmmakers would notice this and make an effort to respect their damn subject.
Instead the movie just rambles on, becoming a movie that celebrates the "George Lazenby punch-line" and runs him over agan.
