Such a compelling and compelling documentary.
Wouldn't be surprised if Stokesy overtakes Jacques Kallis to become the greatest all-rounder of all time in the history of cricket.
A fairly rote, spurious narrative of a masochistic/selfless man-warrior absolving himself through sporting achievement interspersed with candid discussions of mental health and revealing footage of family life.
A passage early on in which Stokes is shown engaging "the Beast" in training is supposed to burnish the film Amazon presumably ordered about a troubled man who becomes a national hero, but jars with what the documentary would become in the midst of his sabbatical.
With so much to cover it's a non-linear whistle-stop tour of the major milestones in Stokes' professional life that makes room for astonishing footage of Stokes with his father in the weeks before his death.

A really solid documentary, the scenes at Leeds still gave me chills even after watching the clips a 100 times before. Fully on test cricket train after the Gabba, nothing is more hype. They handled all the complexities of his career so well, and gave a well rounded result in the end.

For someone who loves sports stories and documentaries, this was really underwhelming. A bunch of people just saying "Stokes has a dog's fight in him" in different ways.
