Ok, so it wasn’t agonizingly bad. It was bad for the most part though... especially at the beginning, but it got progressively better as it went on and I was surprisingly entertained, especially with the racing scenes (despite the announcers being annoying asf). I’m also not surprised Brando Eaton is playing the asshole role like he did on Zoey 101. He just has that jackass look down pat.
This is honestly such a hard film to rate. On the one hand, I wasn't really in agony watching this or anything, mainly because I was laughing at the film for 95% of it. It's a fun movie to make fun of. But on the other hand, this is objectively one of the worst films I've seen this year and is terrible on pretty much every level. The writing is a joke, the acting is abysmal, and the film is riddled up and down with cliches. Even though I had no clue what this movie was even about going into it, I could see everything coming a mile away, and I never cared about the bland lead character. This feels…
I think what I like most about this is how well paced it is, as it doesn’t drag on and ends when it needs to. I also think it’s very entertaining and full of heart. So I’ll give it more credit than it’s probably due because technically it’s not that great of a movie.
The climax of Bennett's War is an eight-minute long motocross race. Considering that this is a 95 minute movie that's nearly a tenth of the runtime, and while director Alex Ranarivelo's directed other racing movies I'm not sure he really knows how to actually capture a good one here.

A little over a week ago I had no idea what this movie even was. I’m sure many people still have no clue, this is the most out of nowhere wide release I think I’ve ever seen? After hearing my local theater would be showing this I went and watched the trailer and I knew from that moment that this was not for me, I have absolutely zero interest in motorcross. Having now seen the film I can say it’s not very good.. the acting is surprisingly fine but the dialogue is so cringe worthy 80% of the time. The story is very formulaic, feel-good sports film. Thank god it was only about 90 minutes though.. I was seriously struggling…
An examination of where you are (disabled vet) and where you could be (motorcross champion.). Sometimes a punch to the gut like the loss of your family’s farm spurs action. The life-affirming bonds of military pals, the exciting race sequences and the determined work it takes to achieve success are incorporated well into a predictable plot.
Haven't been a fan of motocross since I was like 6 so it's been awhile but somehow this made me feel all the feelings, it was like it was real and I was there witnessing everything unfold into front of me, amazing.
What a cool movie honestly. I had this on my list because it came to the theater near me last year and it’s one of the few movies I missed. I really wish I would have got around to seeing it back then. I really enjoyed this and actually had no idea what it was about until I started watching it. A solider is injured, but previously was in the motocross scene, so as he is overcoming his injuries he decides to get back into motocross. Trace Adkins is great, as is Ali Afshar. I really enjoyed this.
Why....? I barely even saw any war? I guess the racing was fun...if totally predictable.
