en fin, película europea con muchos premios que no cuenta nada especialmente relevante más que un cacho de la vida del protagonista... pero ok, no estuvo mal...
Nice movie which is enjoyable to watch. Meither art house, nor commercial, 'Berlin is in Germany' tells the story of a man who has just come out of prison. Germany was divided when he was in prison. His wife is now living with another man.
The protagonist acts well, carrying the movie. It is a slow film but not boring. Though the story is about the hardships of life, the man shows a pleasing personality and a fighting spirit which is lovely to watch.
If you recall the Brooks segment in The Shawshank Redemption, it’s fascinating to compare the tonality of the two films. The Hollywood movie is melodramatic. This German one is stark. We are not invited to feel sorry for Martin and weep for him. We are simply asked to observe his plight.
