didn’t need to spend an hour and ten minutes of my life for you to tell me “social media bad” for the hundreth time, Black Mirror
wouldve been better if it ended with uber driver andrew scott turning to his passenger saying "ay so youre still gonna give me 5 stars right?"
Smithereens is probably the strongest of the three fifth season episodes, taken from beginning to end. There are a number of reasons for this.
Most subtly, Black Mirror has reached the point where it has covered enough ground that perhaps there aren’t too many high concepts left to explore, and so the only logical thing left to do is to mash a few of them together, outside of anthology frameworks like White Christmas or Black Museum. And so Smithereens is conceptually “Uber-versus-Twitter.” That mix-and-match approach lends Smithereens an infectious energy that carries the narrative across the runtime better than either of the two surrounding episodes.
In keeping with this energy, Smithereens also benefits from greater consistency of tone. The film…

Another brilliant performance of Andrew Scott!!!
I would die for him....
SILENT MODE ON
“you’ll pretend to be my friend, then you’ll slowly try to convince me to give myself up”
negotiators or just... men?
It was ok, I mean we all know how social media has impacted our society, and BM has said so many times. I swear the first 40 minutes are boring, when really they should not have been. I mean the hidden motive wasn't exactly difficult to figure out. So yeah at bet this is middle of the pack. The performances are good though.
Writing this review while driving with my girlfriend next to me in the passenger seat... What's the worst that could happen ay? 👀
In all seriousness though... I already knew he was a great actor but sheeeet.. This is Andrew Scott's performance piece! 🤯👏
I think I like this a lot more than everyone else and I’m not sure why that is? Also, I noticed this is the least ‘futuristic’ one. Seems like one of the first to be set current day which I liked. Andrew Scott is one fine actor, that’s for sure!

#21- A Culpa foi do Celular
Intenso e profundo.

Judging by the two episodes James Hawes has directed, it’s very clear that he’s very much into espionage-like stories. Although they aren’t the absolute best ones, they are probably the ones I’ve had the most fun with.
I also liked how they finally connected the US and UK world in an episode, after switching between the two since Season 3.
