A rare mutation has occurred within the vampire community - The Reaper. A vampire so consumed with an insatiable bloodlust that they prey on vampires as well as humans, transforming victims who are unlucky enough to survive into Reapers themselves. There's literally not a single movie in which the introduction of a fictional drug does not immediately turn it into a cartoon. "There's a new shipment of gronko on the streets." "All the vampires are shooting up blunchies." Then some actor's gotta put red pop rocks in his mouth and act like it's turning him into the wolfman. Truly powerful cinema, this one. And then also the vampires are racist now? I guess!
there is a moment at the end where blade suplexes a vampire and then pops back up with a bugs bunny cartoon noise in front of a smirking ron perlman. it is pure cinema
total genius move patterning this after ALIENS. plays its deliriously goofy premise entirely straight, and lets the luxurious pulp design do all the heavy lifting while the endless exposition is delivered by one colorful badass after another. it's all punctuated by some spectacular CG/analog hybrid effects (although the early digital doubling is pretty flimsy). and i'll never get tired of Blade himself, whose greatest attribute is that he absolutely loves killing vampires. there's no equivocation or dark night of the soul. the violence thrills him, and he doesn't have the social skills to realize how inappropriate that is. the only del Toro movie i like, mostly because it doesn't insist that it's actually about anything beyond his high school sketchbook.
I will never be more at peace than watching Wesley Snipes beat people up to techno music
Having seen this film finally gives me some closure as it answered the question as to why the first left me feeling so cold! The original was jam packed with badassery on both sides! However as far as entertainment value the bad guys were better fleshed out and brought more to the table! Whereas Blades (Wesley Snipes) sidekicks Whistler whom was sadly underused and not well defined and Karen whom is about as much fun as a bag of rocks!
The previous film lacked good ole fashioned SmartAssery and Chuckle Fu! Blade 2 remedied the problem by bringing back a new and improved Whistler (Kris Kristofferson), by bringing in a guy who is at the top of his game in…

This movie is amazing. R-rated comic adaptations before Deadpool, we had Blade. 10 times cooler, 25 times more interesting, and honestly, 5 times as funny.
The reapers are cool as fuck, and so Del Toro. And there is something about a racist Ron Perlman getting put in his place.
Wesley Snipes, is amazing. He is fighting to put those bloodsucking monsters in their place. Fucking IRS. Oh yea, he also fights vampires.
The last fight is jut over the top fun.
What can I say this might be one of the top 5 marvel movies ever made and blows most of the MCU out of the water for style and action.

Seriously though, having seen the first one a while back ago and having watched the infamous third one as a kid, I grew up being fully aware of this movie not only because the trailer always popped up on the internet at the time, but I remember Cypress Hill’s song featured on this movie being on heavy rotation in MTV (back when they were a music channel), but never gotten to watch this sequel to last night – and it was pretty fun.

Leave it to Guillermo del Toro to transform an early modern comic book sequel into an auteurist work about corrupt kings, fallen princes, warrior princesses, and an outsider knight waging war against the underworld beasts this nightmare world created, complete with his radical knack for juvenile D&D sketchbook design intact. Continue to prefer the first, but when folks try to point at shit like GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY as retaining the distinct voice of its director while still being a product of the Cape Industrial Complex’s cotton candy cinema grinder, I hold this up as a counterpoint for what that actually looks like.
