  According to Patton Oswalt, Wesley Snipes and David Goyer did not get along making this movie, to the point where they were only communicating via Post-It notes (which Snipes would sign “From Blade”). Eventually, every single shot that did not require a close-up of Snipes was completed with his stand-in. And unless you actively pay attention to the screen while the film is on, you would never know it!

  Ryan Reynolds has 90% of the dialogue in this movie and it's all horrible dick jokes and references to beastiality. It's really, really annoying.

  Also, if you pay close attention, you may notice that Wesley Snipes has a small cameo as his vampire character from the enjoyable "Blade" movies.

  The closeup thing actually ends up working in the movie's favor because Wesley Snipes makes all these insanely funny faces and it's made much funnier by the fact that his face never shares the screen with anybody else.

  Also Parker Posey's so hot in this. Basically a perfect movie if you can ignore a lot of other stuff.

  I've been watching the dismal Lost Boys sequels and HAD to switch it up so I picked this... and Not gonna lie, I watched all three of these theatrically when I was the perfect age to be consuming doofy Wesley Snipes vampire hunter comic book movies but holy cow these movies are just not my thing at all. bummer

  the nadir of nu metal cinema. the first blade had charisma and style, the second blade had style, and blade: trinity has... ryan reynolds. in some ways this is an elegy for pre-marvel hegemony superhero films in its surprisingly small scale and scuzzy tone, but in other ways it's a harbinger of things to come -- the emphasis on quips over emotion, the reliance on an expansive cast of characters instead of exploring the depths of the hero, the forgettable villains, so on into infinity.

  On his own once again, Blade (Wesley Snipes) joins up with a crack team of vampire hunters to face off against a legendary old foe, in David S Goyer’s superhero action with Jessica Biel, Ryan Reynolds, Dominic Purcell, Parker Posey and Kris Kristofferson.

  This last outing for Snipes’ iconic vampire hunter is probably more famous for its troubled production than anything that happens in the actual film; Goyer stepped into the director’s chair this time around (having penned the previous two), something that led to a series of now legendary clashes with Snipes, who by the end of production was reportedly so detached he communicated with the filmmaker solely through post-it notes, and would often just refuse to show up…

  This was so bad it's shocking. Blade: Trinity will be remembered for one thing only: How David S. Goyer Buried His Own Franchise.

  Everything from the supporting cast, the sub-par action set-pieces to the piss-poor MTV-like slo-mo styling - this film is a mess.   Everybody seems to shit on this sequel in the Blade trilogy, with most of it squarely targeted at Ryan Reynolds' Hannibal King. And that's something that I don't quite understand, he's auditioning for Deadpool here, and he fucking nails it. By the time you add Jessica Biel in a pair of leather trousers, I couldn't have given a shit if Wesley Snipes had been in this or not. It could have been called The Nightstalkers, I'd have watched this without a mention of Snipes or Blade, but somebody needed some more cash to hide from the IRS, so back came our Wes with his swords sharpened and his hair suitably ludicrous.   100-word review: I didn't know Ryan Reynolds starred in yet another Marvel movie, besides his two distinct Deadpool portrayals, and of course he plays the same character, again... Here's to hoping the upcoming MCU remake keeps the Matrix-esque aesthetics and ridiculous weapon action, and improves upon everything else. Blade is just so comically try-hard with his 'cool guy' poses and unnecessary fighting flamboyance (like doing a backflip to catch the tossed baby). Trinity is two hours long, very basic in terms of plot, and still rushed; I wanted to say 'fast paced', but that would cut it too much slack.
