If i could choose one person to give the gift of immortality to, you bet your ass my boy David is first in line
[Forgot to log this when I finished it months ago]
Afterthoughts: David Attenborough is one of the greatest human beings on the planet. A household name loved by all Brits, and anyone else around the world who has watched his incredible shows.
Blue Planet II is what cameras were invented for! Every single shot almost makes me feel sick over how astonishing nature is.
The music is some of Hans Zimmer’s best work of his career!
I remembered to log this because I’ve just watched the first episode of his new amazing series, Dynasties. Off to an excellent start as always!
tbh i only watch these shows to see my dog’s reactions to all the animals. he loves sea lions probably because he looks like one
Simply one of the greatest nature documentaries ever made. That last episode is exactly what we need right now. Thank you, Blue Planet 2.
“Is David Attenborough A Found Footage Filmmaker" - the greatest thread in the history of forums, locked by a moderator after 12,239 pages of heated debate,
When it came to David Attenborough's nature documentaries on the BBC, Planet Earth was my favorite of the bunch, and I expected it to stay that way. While Planet Earth II and The Blue Planet were great, but didn't quite reach that level. However, when it comes to the last series watched in this marathon, Blue Planet II blew me away. Combining the exploration of the unexplored seas with the first Blue Planet and some of the best aspects of the two Planet Earths to create a magical experience. Whether or not this is better than the first Planet Earth is a question I'd have to ponder, but Blue Planet II is certainly a masterpiece of modern nature documentaries.

It's so wonderful that some words are not worth the breath to say.
The ocean is often so terrifying, yet so fascinating.

When I was a kid we spent some time in Maryland so my dad could lecture at the local university. Every week I would watch an episode of the new David Attenborough series, Blue Planet. Southern Maryland was mostly shit (turned out that my teachers were all creationists. Like, “the dinosaurs didn’t exist” type creationists) but watching that series was a highlight of each week, and got me interested in studying marine biology. The follow up has the same effect, especially seeing some of my local coastline get a deeper look (shoutout to the intertidal zones and pacific kelp forests).
