If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Do good anyway. The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shut down by the smallest people with the smallest minds. Think big anyway. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway. Give the world the best you have and you will be kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.
I'm heartbroken. The world's cruelty is always inflicted with ferocity towards the most beautiful people. Hedy Lamarr was one of those people. When Mel Brooks called the U.S. Navy "sons of bitches" for disregarding her invention, I felt that. She was a woman who wanted nothing more but love.…
okay. listen. I could make this review about how the system failed Hedy solely because she was a woman, but that's a narrative that's been told for years. I could also say something like 'wow' or 'I'm shook' but that wouldn't do her any justice, and that's what this movie's purpose was. obviously, there are no words sufficient enough to express just how amazing this woman was, but I'll try.
I've loved this woman since I was a kid, when I knew her as Hedy Lamarr, the actress. no one told me she was more than that. in my opinion, it was more than the system. it was more than the studio. the whole world failed her. all she ever…
I am so glad that there is a documentary spotlighting on Hedy Lamarr, who was a brilliant, beautiful, and misunderstood woman!
the fact that hedy and jfk dated before he was president and he then, years later, unwittingly signed off on ships to be deployed that were equipped with the technology she invented and got no credit for is WILD.
all hail queen hedy.
you ever think about how advanced and utopic our world would be if women werent treated like garbage and were allowed to be as creative and inventive as men
... how the fuck is there not a hedy lamarr biopic starring the one and only miss keira knightley
“people are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered. love them anyway. if you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. do good anyway. if you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies. succeed anyway. the good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. do good anyway. honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. be honest and frank anyway. the biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds. think big anyway. people favor underdogs but follow only top dogs. fight for a few underdogs anyway. what you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. build anyway. people really…
The world didn’t deserve Hedy Lamarr. I am so shook, i cried and laughed. This woman went through so much in her life and no one took her seriously and what she did to this world.
Hedy Lamarr finally gets her voice and it is an important voice to be heard.

task 19 - watch a documentary about an inspirational woman
not sure how to feel about this documentary. it was really good, don't get me wrong, but it didn't have as much emotional impact as i would've thought. and to say that hedy lamarr was so beautiful almost seems wrong now.. because of her story, and how apathetic she was about her self-described curse of being beautiful, and for people not letting her be more than that. but, still, a mere flash or glimpse of her does stop my heart from beating.. but legit we have so much to thank hedy for. i wouldn't even be able to post this review or watch this film with someone else if it wasn't for hedy's inventions. hedy was a beautiful face, but she was so much more, and i thank her for it.

Sehr sehenswert!
