There is a Werner Herzog/vagina joke in this that made me laugh so hard I didn’t realize I was the only person laughing.
Enjoy your Marvel, nerds. These ladies are my Avengers.
wallace shawn makes a cameo as “dr derek, a surgeon who DJs on the side” so that’s three stars right there
dakota johnsons dad being in this movie about old ppl reading the fifty shades of grey books....king
Something that Jane Fonda has reiterated throughout the press tour of this film is that older women are the fastest growing demographic in the world, and if even a fraction of those women end up as fun as the women in this film, then the world is going to be a much better place for it.
This film just made me so happy, frankly, and watching it was so wonderfully fun. It really was just an enjoyable experience and that made it so easy to love. It wasn’t perfect by any stretch, it was cheesy, somewhat predictable, and the scenes where the four main women were together were definitely the best, but it made me very happy and I had…
I don't know why each of the main characters have to have a different marital status: Diane Keaton, the widow; Candice Bergen, the divorcee; Jane Fonda, single and loving it; Mary Steenburgen, married.
Probably the greatest moment was when Candice Bergen's character was looking through profiles on an online dating site and Wallace Shawn's picture popped up. In fact, there were lots of great little moments with faces we as an audience could recognize and feel at home with. Good performances. However, half of the movie is based on reading the Fifty Shades books and "ooh, what if we incorporated that into our lives even though we're aging."
The cast is solid, so I wish I could say the same for the script. There are a ton of laughs, but sometimes it goes for cheap thrills.
can these old white women please invite me to their brunches and make me their token gay best friend
