Caught this movie at the Austin Film Festival, and what a pleasant surprise! Indie films, especially those by new/up-and-coming filmmakers can be a bit of a mixed bag, but "Bullitt County" feels like a film made by some very assured folks.
It's clearly rooted in fun genre tropes (bonus points for being set in the 1970s!), but it has a lot more on its mind -- deeper themes like friendship, repeating the past, alcoholism, etc.
I just bought it on VOD / DVD, and it's a really fun rewatch. One of those movies with a lot of twists, turns, and surprises, so it's fun knowing the ending and seeing how everything is set up. Can't wait to see this crew's next flick.
