Since its release, I've seen a lot of negative stuff about this movie on the interwebz. Mostly from toxic nerds, people nagging about Jude Law mansplaining, the LGBT thing not being in your face or Capt. Marvel being white.
These things say absolutely nothing about the movie itself and I've come to accept that this is the default state of movie r̶e̶v̶i̶e̶w̶s̶ opinions and that's okay, since I mostly don't care.
But by doing so, people ignore the biggest flaw in this movie that's actually about the movie, and that's ending up with a completely overpowered superhero without a fitting villain to match that power. Okay, it's an origin story, and that power needs to be demonstrated, but I felt like I was using the bigdaddy cheat in Age of Empires.
Except for that, it's a really entertaining movie with a deeper backstory than most MCU movies.
