I can definitely understand why this one got mixed ratings. The structure is quite odd. The first half plays like your average charming Bollywood romance, and the second half gets super real and depressing. It almost feels like you’re watching two separate movies.
But get this: I really liked it. I’ll always be forgiving of a film that takes risks.

another movie where srk plays an annoying character. they should've ended the movie in the middle after they got married, literally nothing worth watching happened in the latter half of the movie.
raj (srk) in this movie is the one of the reasons why women hate men, truly. like the entire second half of the movie i was sitting there thinking "do men deserve rights?"
i would've given this a higher rating if priya (rani) left raj at the end, but for him to have put her through all of that sh*t and for her to forgive him and come back at the end?? like? no. the man had no redeeming qualities and did not deserve her at all.

ok it takes almost 90 minutes to get to the movie you wanted to watch (SRK + Rani in a troubled marriage) and the second half has some very well-acted and well-executed sequences. there are nuggets of a meta-ish movie with the framing device telling a polished version of a rushed marriage then breaking down that fantasy in the second half. wish that were explored more!!

At first I admired this movie for taking a bold direction by revealing the potential realities of marriage. However this film forces us to sympathise with him to the point of wanting us to take his side completely when he's incredibly toxic! The resolution sends such a terrible message and is ultimately played for laughs with her family finding the situation funny despite Everything that happened. Such a shame, ugh.

damn get a divorce!!!
I have a very high tolerance for nonsense after a lifetime of watching Bollywood films (let's never forget I watched Humko Dewaaana Kar Gaye 6 times in 2020), but Rani & SRK yelling at each other with Rani's dad and aunt looking on like "haha! that's just them! being toxic!" has to be one of the worst things I've ever seen.
This isn't as bad as Saathiya in watchability, but its message may be worse. I'm not here for these toxic relationships.

The premise of this movie isn't bad but the execution is not good...1/2 star for the Taubha Tumhare Yeh Ishare song and how hot SRK/Rani were in it (would have been 20x better with Aishwarya though but whatever lol)
