does netflix really expect me to care about its fake ass love stories when the male lead looks like an overcooked omelette? I DONT THINK SO
So, a white city woman is dating a black man until she goes to a small town and realizes what’s really important in life...which, apparently, is falling in love with a white man.
That’s what I got out of this winner. Way to stumble out of the dumpster fire that is 2017, Netflix. Trump must be so proud.
you expect me to root for a guy with lego hair and a face that looks like it’s made of plasticine? it’s just not realistic
ok so let me get this straight... jake lacy was married to someone in new york who left him for someone rich and now he hates a particular christmas Carol hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Imo silent night is Jake Lacey's trigger song and he starts committing woman murders every time he hears it but the whole town is covering for him but he DEFINITELY kills women. That's what they're not telling u when u watch it but if you read between the lines the woman killing is there!
I can't decide whether this movie more offensive to "small town" folks or "big city" people.
my mom after we watched the credits roll: oh I’m so sad
me: why?
my mom: cause it’s over. you gotta admit, perfect movie.
me: yeah
"Jake, you ever heard the expression 'Don’t look a gift-horse in the mouth'?"
AND THEY SAY CINEMA IS DEAD!!!!
“See, people treat you a little bit differently when they know that you're inheriting a multimillion dollar company, so I have to go incognito.”
entitled city snob has to go to northern smalltown in order to learn the value of modesty from local peasants. ah yes, i love when the working class man has to show the insufferable rich girl how to do the bare minimum and be decent lol. i screamed when she said that shit about charity in the beginning 😭😂
Jake Lacy and Eliza Taylor whyyyyyyy
It’s like a Rom-Com written by the Alt-Right.
Every character in this movie can straight up go fuck themselves.
genuinely just ???
i don't know what i'm supposed to say about this, because it was so droll and uninspired that I am not sure where to even begin. it is just so far removed from reality that I cannot even work out how to start tearing it apart.
don't watch it unless you really want to waste someones time, then, by all means go ahead
I blame watching this on seasonal depression and Clexa fanfic making me want to watch Eliza Taylor in more things
admitting that i only watched this because plop from the office is in it is embarrassing on multiple levels tbh
no offense but despite his “personality“ her fiance is better than mr. creepy, I was so uncomfortable the whole time, if he stopped doing the eyebrow thing every 2 seconds this movie could've been a 1 star.
“You could sell this drawing for a lot of money!”
*camera shows a truly laughable sketch of a misshapen Santa*
This is a near-perfect hatewatch Xmas movie:
-you can play “Fake Snow / Real Snow” as it has so many close-up shots of endless gallons of soap suds masquerading as the real thing;
-you can point out the endlessly awful props which as above appear to have been picked or made in a real hurry (and god, I laugh at that sketch every time);
-it brutally reinforces every single goddamn sexist stereotype in these movies, where the small town male love interest learns to love the big city female lead only after she learns to clean, cook, and care for…
Typical Hallmark Christmas movie. Good enough for when you need something playing in the background for The Christmas Spirit™️
The Most Wonderful Time | Christmas Month 2020
It’s a testament to director Ernie Barbarash and writer Dinah Eng that this rather simple and familiar narrative remains largely compelling with Eliza Taylor’s charming lead as a good natured heiress prone to disastrous situations in a wholesome tale that while not the most original of films manages its job effectively.
