The idea that this two hour movie presents two hours the main characters life in, what's basically, real time is really fascinating. There's no real beginning, middle or end to this film, it's one of those great slice-of-life movies.
This movies all about how we view people, and the images we project onto the world. I liked the idea that this film spends the first half surrounding the lead (who's a famous singer) with her agents and composers, who're constantly trying to write music that'll publicly present her in a certain light. But we slowly break down those walls as characters come in and out of her life (and this movie!).
I'd not heard of this director until this movie, so now it's time to binge all her movies and buy the t-shirt.
