Three intertwined stories to celebrate the the centenary of romance publishing house Mills & Boon. The first concerns Charles Boon's tempestuous relationship with his wife Mary, and is complemented by story lines set in the 1970s and the present day.

This clever multi-strand drama was made by BBC4, back when they had a budget for original drama, to celebrate 100 years of the infamous publishing house, Mills & Boon - purveyor of low brow formulaic escapist romantic fiction for women.
And surprisingly good it is too.
The three stories are set in different time periods (the 1900s, the 1970s and the present day 00s) with the disparate strands tied together by the common theme of the publishing house itself. loved that olivia colman writing a horny fan fiction about herself and a doctor got her a career she girlbossed so hard
Olivia Coleman made me ponder the shadow aspects of the self and for that this movie gets one star. Mr boon going to the navy with his "best friend" and not touching his wife was giving gay. OT Fagbenle unironically being shirtless in his university and donning a rosary is never explained or even really acknowledged. They have loud fully naked sex in the stacks of the library and are not bothered, which I think is a metaphor for young people not reading anymore.
If ur professing a class I think u should be given an office.. this poor girl professor had to resort to sleeping with O.T Fagbendle in the bushes and just fully naked in the library midday.. that's just not right! More offices for professors.. now!!
Slay Olivia Coleman for being published by the gay husband's baby and probably marrying him later
Two of three of the stories were decent and watchable, but the modern day teacher/student one drove me insane. It was so obnoxious, and all I wanted was just to hear the teacher's TED talk about romance novels.
