I think the most frustrating thing about Claw is how inoffensive of a monster movie it is. There's no sense risk or danger for the characters.
People are eaten and it's like watching CGI rag dolls get flung about in the water and blood that obscures their demise. The family drama between the estranged daughter and father barely keeps the film together as a cohesive piece, the alligators hardly proving formidable against their robust plot armor.
It's not a terrible movie, but it's hardly riveting. You're better off watching the Australian horror film, Rogue. At least there it feels like there's genuine threat for the main characters and the fodder that surrounds them.
