There are worse things in the world than this film, like cancer, or getting your butt stuck to the drainage pipe of a pool and having your intestines sucked out your anus.

One of the truly puzzling, brain-teasing & original movies you're going to see, Cube is a cleverly written & directed cinema and a fantastic suspense-thriller with no certain explanation to its time-line, structure or anything else & that's what makes it even more intriguing. The performances by the cast is unquestionably very amateurish which almost ruins the movie but the setting, production design & filmmaking is pure craft.

By putting up 6 different & unrelated characters from different backgrounds inside a cubic structure, the movie steadily creates a tense atmosphere of claustrophobia, paranoia & desperation which continues throughout its runtime and in the end, wraps itself up as mysteriously as it began. On an overall scale, a thrilling surprise of exciting suspense & mystery blended with a cleverly twisted plot, Cube is destined to please the fans of its genre.

Passed the test of time with flying colors! Exceptionally clever Sci-Fi film done on a shoestring budget! What the director managed to achieve with 1 and a half cubes built on a sound stage is nothing short of a miracle!

I hear complaints about the acting... I actually thought they communicated the sheer magnitude of terror and desperation quite well!

I do feel the film could have benefitted by increasing the number of people trapped inside the Cube and upped the kill ratio with a wide range of diabolical traps designed to give viewers nightmares long after they've viewed the CUBE!

At first I couldn't figure out why I found Cube so frustratingly boring but then it dawned on me--I always hated math class and, unfortunately for me, this movie was like having to watch math class as people were using practical solutions to find the prime number factors of whole numbers for 90 minutes - 3 minutes for end credits = this movie needs a boot thrown at it.

In the 90’s, this bleak and psychological low budget stuff was my jam, the kinda stuff I’d watch at 2am while eating ramen because I couldn’t sleep and ramen is pretty tasty when you’re a buzzed teenager zoning out to a movie about a giant prison cube with traps that slice people up or melt their faces off.

While I still like Cube, my first revisit in many years wasn’t quite as satisfying as it was to 14 year old me.

Uma excelente ideia, porém vaga! Esta é a sentença que define o filme. Entendemos que há uma série de críticas que o filme quis passar além de causar suspense no espectador, contudo a crítica vazia, por si só, não gera reflexão. Talvez esta fosse a mensagem a se passar, justamente pela falta de explicação que o filme oferece. Enfim, é bom filme para os amantes do gênero, mas pecou ao não trazer maiores detalhes para que o espectador, no mínimo, tivesse um momento de reflexão pós filme.
