  not a parody, just a cheap superhero movie that ceaselessly reminds you it knows how lazy & stupid it is.

  you can't afford to make a pure superhero subversion, because it has to cost $$$ in order to look the part. but Deadpool also had to be super inexpensive in order to finance a hard-R movie about a juvenile 4th-rate superhero with a tangential relationship to the X-Men... so it's like a 7-10 split and the film throws the ball straight down the middle. it ends up falling into the same traps that it exists to mock, and it doesn't have the wit or filmmaking muscle to make that look good.

  Van Wilder was funnier in Van Wilder. Morena Baccarin deserves better. mildly concerned for anyone above the age of 15 who likes this movie.

  THIS IS THE COMIC BOOK FILM WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR! Seriously, we have NEVER seen anything like this before. Ryan Reynolds dream came true! He also kills it as Deadpool!

  THIS MOVIE IS SO TWISTED BUT I LOVED IT SO MUCH.

  It's insanity, pure insanity. Deadpool has it all, literally. There's action, blood, sex, and hella jokes. Like the jokes are constant and it all mostly works. Laugh after laugh after laugh. Easily the funniest movie I've seen in quite sometime.

  I never thought there would be a day where I saw a 5 minute sex sequence in a Marvel film. What a time to be alive.

  Morena Baccarin keeps getting better and better; I want to see her in everything.

  Also this film contains Stan Lee's best cameo BY FAR. No question.

  Sadly, no.

  What?! But the trailers look great! And all those videos and billboards! They're hilarious!
  That's called good marketing. Unfortunately, it isn't indicative of the quality of the actual film. I mean, you could already kind of tell from the countless trailers they've released. They all show the same scenes—that's because there isn't much in the movie to choose from. Why couldn't they make the movie more like this? The marketing guys should've made this movie.

  But I'm getting a Kingsman and Kick-Ass vibe from this, and those movies were really good...
  I like Kingsman and I love Kick-Ass. Deadpool is not nearly as witty nor as violent as those two. Not…

  "Shit..."

  (The audience waits in rapt anticipation for the next line of dialogue, on the edge of their seats. What piece of comedic genius shall Ryan Reynolds dispense next? What witty juxtaposition will the marketing team at Marvel Studios inflict upon the public this time? The suspense is palpable!)

  "... Did I leave the stove on?"

  (The theater is consumed by howls of laughter. Seats are kicked, knees are slapped, and tears stream down the audience's cackling faces. They snort and guffaw, their ribs aching, as they turn red in the face. Choking on their popcorn, they gasp for breath, momentarily regretting having gone to see a film as jaw-droppingly funny as Deadpool. XXL-sized Pepsi containers spill across the floor as the dead bodies slump forward in their seats, expressions of mirth still on their faces. They die happily, with popcorn lodged in their windpipes. Such is the pain of seeing Deadpool, the funniest movie of all time.)

  If they don’t introduce Deadpool into the MCU using the line “Oh fuck, am I too late to meet Robert Downey Jr.?” Then honestly, what’s the point. Huge wasted opportunity. 

  Anyhow, Deadpool is still great! The soundtrack is fire, fourth wall breaking hilarious and Ryan Reynolds is still incredible as the merc with a mouth. It’s a fun, hyper-violent, gleefully perverse frolic into the super-powered absurd...and an absolute joy!

  It's the Merc with a Mouth in his own R-rated comic book man movie.

  Fact: Ryan Reynolds was born to play Wade Wilson / Deadpool. We use the term liberally when talking about actors in certain roles, but in this case, it's true. Ryan's sense of humor and mannerisms, fit Deadpool perfectly. Ever seen, Blade: Trinity? Remember Hannibal King? You know, Hannibal King is basically Deadpool with a mask. Ryan's been practicing to play Deadpool for over a decade.

  Deadpool doesn't give a fuck. If you give a fuck, chances are, you might not enjoy Deadpool. Me? I rolled with it, and laughed so hard, it hurt. It's hard not to laugh with Ryan cracking jokes 90 miles a minute.…

  Deadpool, directed by Tim Miller and starring Ryan Reynolds, is a winking, formulaic joyride built by convention but constantly in love/appalled by its restraints. It's a whole lot of fun, spectacular in the rapid-fire nature of every gag and featuring a surprisingly tender romance at the center of its fucked-up heart. Pretending that it's anything more than that almost nullifies the low stakes of what Miller and company have tried to achieve, but I believe from the opening credits, Deadpool showcases itself as openly and honestly as possible, bringing engaging characters (except the bleh villain) to the forefront and playing off of their own restrictions. I laughed until my sides hurt, I actually cared about Wade Wilson's plight, and by the end, I was ready for more. Job well done.

  "DEADPOOL is certainly gory and profane, but deep down it’s really no different than every other comic-book movie (and its ending is even more conventional than a lot of the stuff it spoofs). Pointing out how crappy other movies are doesn’t automatically make your movie good."
