All master detective Hercule Poirot (Peter Ustinov) wants to do is spend a leisurely holiday on a nice boat going down the Nile river, but unfortunately for him and excitingly for us, he gets roped into a nefarious murder plot. Lois Chiles plays a wealthy heiress who is murdered, and there just so happens to be a large number of suspects on the boat who all have potential motives for committing the crime.
Featuring a star studded cast including David Niven, Mia Farrow, Bette Davis, Angela Lansbury, George Kennedy, and others, it is a classic Agatha Christie murder mystery, and it's simply so enjoyable to watch Poirot figure everything out using the tiniest shreds of clues like some kind of superhero. All of the many characters get their moments in the spotlight and everyone seems to really enjoy hamming it up. It's very fun.
