Heavy Metal Apocalypse
The Demon Apocalypse has arrived. We can thank the garage metal band, DEATHGASM, for accidentally summoning Aeloth The Blind One. Yup, you guessed it. All HELL is about to break loose. DEATHGASM is an import from New Zealand, and it's loaded with enough splatter, to make Takashi Miike, blush. Now, let's play that vinyl record. (Backwards of course!)
Holy, SplatterFuck! Can you say, gory fun? I'm not a hardcore metalhead, but I love to rock. DEATHGASM is all rock, and then some. It's balls-to-the-wall insane. It's mad homage to the Evil Dead franchise. DEATHGASM never takes itself seriously, and that's okay. It's demons, chainsaws, sex toys, bootleg music videos, gratuitous nudity, and lots and lots and lots and lots of…
The most metal movie of all time. Posessed teachers spewing blood over students? Check. Bloody chainsaw battles? Check. A hilarious metal horror mashup that I can't wait to watch again!
Jason Lei Howden takes the premise of "Evil Dead" and the heavy metal of that film literally, while the possession is no longer confined to a cabin in the middle of the woods but an entire town.
The overly stylized editing, especially at the beginning, was too much and didn't fit perfectly with the heavy metal tone the movie aims for, feeling a little poppy for my taste. But once the demon summoning takes place, the film picks up steam and becomes more interesting, gory and violently funny. The satanic group that serve as antagonists work very well, with the all actors capturing the evilness but also campy tone - plus that beheading scene at the beginning was hysterical. The…

Braindead meets This Is Spinal Tap meets The Breakfast Club.
Sorry.
Frightfest 2015 Film # 12
Highly entertaining heavy metal horror movie made by a fan for the fans and destined to become a cult classic. Milo Cawthorne stars as Brodie a metal loving misfit who moves in with his bible bashing aunt and uncle after his mother dies. Hooking up with a few other unpopular kids they decide to form a metal band and unwittingly summon up the demon The Blind One, before long Brodie and his gang of friends must use any weapons that come to hand (from chainsaw's, weed whackers and even a massive dildo) to slay the demons and save the town.
This is a gruesome throwback to the 80's, it wears it's heart on it's sleeve…
Why the fuck did I leave this movie sitting there for 5 months?
This was fucking great. Evil Deadesque gore and humour. Loved every second of it.
Super psyched for the sequel now!!
"Wait. 3 a.m. Pacific or Eastern time? Do demons recognize Daylight Savings?"
When a couple of metalheads stumble across the pages to an ancient tune known as "The Black Hymn," they inadvertently release a wave of demonic possession upon their sleepy little hometown. Deathgasm is a solid comedy-horror that goes hard with the blood & gore while indulging some classic Satanic panic conspiracy theories.
Of note: following this, I went to see Everything Everywhere All at Once, which, much to my delighted surprise, permits me to say I watched back-to-back films featuring someone getting hit in the face with a dildo. What a day!
this movie is awesome! it did tick all of my boxes, honestly the soundtrack alone is perfection and i will be obsessed with it for a while
Heavy metal. Guitars. Blood and gore. Peurile humour. Boy, oh boy! I wish I was 15 again, this shit would have been right up my alley. But alas, now I am old and like mature and shit, so now I can only watch it with a detached bemusement, slightly put off by it's pointless depravity.
Not! Tucked away in the breast pocket of my business shirt is a little head banger poking his mohawk out and pumping some devil horns into the air with his fist. This is some gnarly shit. It makes me want to grow my hair long and dye it purple again, and where is that Opeth T-shirt I used to have...
If you love heavy metal, blondes, demons and gore, then this is the film for you. It has everything from your classic chainsaw mayhem to death by dildo. Yep, they really fuck shit up in this film. Check it out, dudes

Insanely gory and a lot of fun. I wasn’t totally sure for the first 10-15 minutes, but was sold soon after when it got so bonkers. Clearly influenced by the Evil Dead series and fellow New Zealander Peter Jackson’s early films. If you want a movie that prides itself on unique kills then look no further. Chainsaws galore, dildo stabbings, anal bead whipping, axe hacking, power drill mayhem and more. The metal aspect is superficial and probably isn’t an accurate representation, but I’m also a metal noob. Either way, really enjoyed it and would recommend. Also, Milo Cawthorne was like the Kiwi Timothée Chalamet at times.
