D.E.B.S is basically the best film of all time unfairly dismissed by people who haven't watched it as a dude's wet dream come true, but actually nothing in it panders to men AT ALL. this was created wholly for women and by women and when you see it from that perspective everything just clicks into place and it all makes sense.
a tale of burgeoning sexuality, no one is shamed for their sexual preference, their promiscuity, no one is punished for drinking or smoking like we so often see for teenage girls in films. (nearly) every teenage girl smokes fags and drinks beer and rolls their skirt up to feel cute, and they don't have to meet a horrible end for it. I DUNNO MAN I JUST THINK THIS FILM IS BASICALLY REVOLUTIONARY?
lucy is such a gay icon oh my god!! she literally carries diamonds in her pocket just to be dramatic!! what a fucking mood!!!!
the scene where amy gives lucy a pair of diamond encrusted handcuffs is the cornerstone of lesbian cinema
when ingmar bergman said βno art passes our conscience in the way film does, and goes directly to our feelings, deep down into the dark rooms of our soulsβ he was talking about D.E.B.S. (2004)
