Tough call on this one.
I liked the plot/premise but I don't think the narrative/execution was as good.
There's definitely some intense and very tense scenes in the movie (at times, it reminded of "Speed" with the bombs but with a twist), there's also quite some action but also some unbalance between the present time and the flashbacks.
Although I also enjoyed the flashback/past scenes, some of them sort of "interfered" with the pace of the movie. The 1st half was pretty fast and intense but the last third (in particular) really slowed down.
Personally, I thought the movie could've been greater with a better balance between the action and dramatic scenes, which I think wasn't that well achieved. It…
Everything in this film above water was ridiculously dry. A rather generic action thriller that really dragged, it only ever got interesting when going to the submarine flashbacks where it was more of a psychological survival drama. The rules of the world make no sense nor do the plot progression, making it out to be a rather unremarkable blockbuster.
Kim Rae-won was decent as the male lead but rather forgettable.
Lee Jong-suk was the standout as an absolute psychotic villain. Definitely want to see more of him.
There are some glimpses of brilliance in this film, but besides some key scenes it’s an otherwise forgettable flick.
Me encanta Lee Jong-suk de malo. Y además es que aquí comprendo su personaje, yo también hubiese querido venganza. Muy recomendable esta peli.
The flashback and the submarine scenes saved this movie, everything else is your generic cliché trope. And kinda a let down I thought it would dive deeper into technical/advanced things but the bombs were just a decorative device to the story.
i dont even need to see it. ljs and eunwoo in the SAME MOVIE??!! literally SAY LESS
aku yg udah beranjak dewasa atau emang filmnya yg too much drama? ngga tau deh pokoknya belakangan ini perasaanku udah kebal, susah berempati, mati rasa.
Pretty good thriller but there were many things which could have been better.
The writing lacked depth, the performances were good, some thrills in the 1st half.
Perfectly serviceable thriller that never quite rises above the surface (heh) in an explosive (heh) way. Kim Rae-won is a magnetic presence, but Lee Jong-suk continues to impress with yet another solid negative performance.
