Considering the parameters (a dare to have a completed film in 5 weeks) it’s a lot of gooey, snap-zoomy fun.
This movie was conceived, shot and finished in five weeks. I love that!
DEMENTIA II looks good and there's a fun weirdo vibe, but it never really goes nuts - which means the reviews I read that called it THE GROSSEST FILM OF THE YEAR and AN EVIL DEAD STYLE ROMP! lied to me.
Fooled once again.
How can a movie this good be made in a month? It blows my mind quite literally. A tongue in cheek 'sequel' for a film that Mike Testin directed in 2015 that now includes the wonderful Matt Mercer and his class of enjoyable actors.
When a film has a run time of 66 minutes and was made in a month, it does slightly concern you that you are about to see something terrible or instantly forgettable but it is quite the opposite. On screen, we get a fun story that channels the spirit of THE EVIL DEAD and brings in a helping of relevant humour and satire. This is all helped along nicely in its gorgeous black and white visuals…

Helthcare from Hell.
This little film was as funny as it was disgusting (sometimes).
„Dementia Part II“ is a nasty little midnight movie wirh lots of homages to genre classics like „Braindead“.
During the movie I thought: „Kevin Smith would do a movie like this ... ah no he‘s stoned all the time and just shooting shit for a decade“.

I’ve seen films that were made to make money, to deliver a message and even as art. But Dementia: Part II may be a first, it was made on a dare.
"A film festival in Chicago called Cinepocalypse held their first annual event last November (2017), and they reserved a slot for an unmade feature-length film. In a nutshell, they challenged us and the producers at BoulderLight Pictures (Raphael and JD) to conceive, finance, shoot, and finish a feature film, script-to-screen, in literally 5 weeks (beginning the day the festival announced their schedule) and see if something could come of it. Whatever we made, they promised to show it in that slot." Matt Mercer and Mike Testin co-directors of Dementia:…
Looking for a film that will try to make you laugh and vomit at the same time? Look no further! Seriously, this film was a blast and also checked my gag reflex a couple times. Suzanne Voss is phenomenal in this, and Graham Skipper even drops by. Top all that with the knowledge that this film was written, filmed, produced, and released in only 30 days make it even more impressive. Easy contender for my top ten horror for 2021.

It seems Testin is trying to take the title from Raimi and Hooper for Biggest Tonal Change from Original to Sequel. He's definitely in the running.
Now, if the third one takes place in Medieval times....
Why is it in black and white?
This movie isn't good enough to feign pretentious importance and get away with it.
