Many times, it's fun to look back on a series' beginning and wonder "How has this changed knowing what I know now?". Episode ONE seeks to do just that. Airing after the finale of the Bourbon arc, Episode ONE shows what other members of the evil organization, knows as the Black Organization, were doing during this series' humble beginnings. This special adds a bit of development to under-developed characters (Chianti and Korn), while adding a bit more to already existing characters (Gin). A great little special, and a must watch for any fans of the series.

Well, as an introduction to a long running franchise, and as someone who isn't really familiar otherwise, this was pretty good. Although as a standalone film the ending doesn't quite work - I'm guessing all the little vignettes from what I assume are later adventures make more sense to people more familiar with the franchise.

There's an English dub that's decent (I gather previous English dubs were somewhat localised but this one has the original names and such) although I kept thinking that Ran's name was Ron due to it
