i honestly can't tell u how much i loved this show and how bummed i am that it's over.
i loved everything about it - the acting, the set design, the cinematography, etc. - but in particular the score, the musical cues, and the overall sound design were among the best i've ever come across in a tv series. add to that garland's smart and intense writing, along with his directing, which imo continues to head down a path started in 'annihilation' and is becoming more and more kubrickian, and this series just completely nailed it for me.
my only quibble, which is not with the show itself, is how is it that in the YOOL 2020 i can only get hulu in stereo? because this show was SCREAMING for at minimum a 5.1 mix
anyway, it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for me it was the best thing i've watched on tv in quite some time

I *highly* recommend this show. I find that I fall in love with almost everything Alex Garland creates.
I NEED Alex Garland to keep doing his thing, because this is exactly the type of mindfuck sci-fi I'm here for! Did they stick the landing? Almost. But I'll settle for "almost" when the rest of this mini-series is so damn great. Would absolutely rewatch this, and that's saying a lot because I almost never rewatch series.
Ruhig, mysteriös. berührend impressionistisch und außergewöhnlich inszeniert. Alex Garland zeigt nach EX MACHINA und AUSLÖSCHUNG, dass er einfach für Science Fiction geboren wurde. Große Liebe auch für Sonoya Mizuno und Nick Offerman.
