1982 ‘制覇’ Directed by Sadao Nakajima
When the patriarch of Japan's most powerful yakuza family is shot, his wife is left to pick up the pieces and carry on the legacy.
During the 80's Toei's strategy changed: most of its films were aimed at satisfying female moviegoers too. Domineering it's more of a soap-drama than a real yakuza eiga: probably your old lady will like it better than you and anyway one can enjoy it best if it's watched it in 2 sits because of its 2 hrs: 20 mns lenght. And what a cast!!
